The HEPC’s Office of International Programs (OIP) provides overall leadership and coordination of Global West Virginia in cooperation with the university and college members. The Director of the OIP reports directly to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the HEPC.

West Virginia Consortium for Faculty and Course Development in International Studies (FACDIS) – The West Virginia Consortium for Faculty and Course Development in International Studies (FACDIS). Established in 1980, FACDIS is a consortium of 20 West Virginia institutions of higher education with over 375 participating faculty in international studies and foreign languages from more than fifteen different disciplines.

West Virginia Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (WVTESOL) – A professional organization of those who teach English as a second language. The group is an affiliate of the international TESOL organization, Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, Inc. (TESOL). WVTESOL seeks to strengthen ESL teaching, promote research in the filed of TESOL, and provide opportunities to share ideas with other ESL professionals in West Virginia.

West Virginia Foreign Language Teachers Association – A professional organization that unites all foreign language teachers, both at the K-12 and post-secondary level, to promote the study of world languages in West Virginia. The group holds a yearly conference to provide a forum for collegial interaction.

West Virginia Office of Economic Development – International Development – The International Development Team assists companies from Asia, Europe and around the world in establishing facilities in West Virginia and supports our existing companies in increasing their exports. Over 136 companies from 30 countries have chosen West Virginia as their ideal operational base in North America. West Virginia companies, both large and small, contribute to the growth in our exports. In 2018, West Virginia exports were valued at $8.1 billion. The International Development Team is focused on enhancing West Virginia’s success in the global economy.

EducationUSA – U.S. Department of State – EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 430 international student advising centers in more than 175 countries and territories. The network promotes U.S. higher education to students around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States. EducationUSA also provides services to the U.S. higher education community to help institutional leaders meet their recruitment and campus internationalization goals.Share via:
